Simplebooklet.com
I have found a couple cool tools for students that I wanted to share. The first being simplebooklet.com. This is the coolest site for creating a book, poster, brochure etc for any school project or class activity. I was thinking it would be fun to use for group related projects at the end of the year. Students can add pictures, video, music, websites and more to their own digital book, then all they have to do is email it to me to turn it in! How cool is that? I created a quick book of who else but Scout!!! I will post it for you all to see!

Thing #7 BLOG About Technology
Yesterday I had an interesting conversation with our Tech Guru where I work. He was surprised that I have never used an itouch. I wanted to check one out over the Thanksgiving break so I could explore some apps for my class and see if there was a way in which I could Utilize the itouch in an English/History class. While I pride myself on knowing a whole heck of a lot when it comes to technology, I am not familiar with the i touch. The macbook and i pod I could talk about all day. The i touch? I have no clue about them. I blame the fact on my Verizon wireless service. I would never leave such a great service just for a phone. What is the point of having an i phone if it didn't get service were I lived? It would be a very expensive paper weight. I also do not own the non cellular version of the i phone...the i touch. Its expensive, I'm a teacher...need I say more?
Which brings me back to the whole conversation with the Tech Guru and his astonishment that I have never actually held an i touch. I'm itching to get my fingers on one of the sleek new i touches. I'm excited to check out the millions of apps devoted to education. I am weary however. I don't want to bring in a new techno tool just so my students can play grammar games on them. I don't want to utilize the mini device as a tv for each of my kids to hunch over while watching a video on Medieval history. That's the dilemma...what do I actually do with them?
That's what I will be pondering this week as I fly to Knoxville TN to spend my Thanksgiving. There I can ask the "younger" crowd. Maybe they will have some ingenious ideas, that I can then share with you all!

The Beginning of 21 Things... Day One Thing #1-4(ish)
My very first blog- Very exciting if I should say so myself!
Welcome to A Puggle Princess Contemplates Technology. I am NOT a Puggle, Nor a Princess, that title would go to my one year old Puggle (er...um...Princess) Scout. You can check out her picture on my page...pretty darn cute huh?
Now after teaching all day to rambunctious teenagers, I actually have to think about what I want to say on this...and sound smart??? The first assignment was to tour the 7 1/2 Habits of Life Long Learning. I personally liked habit 7 1/2, it was PLAY! I am not ashamed to say, I play every day! I play on my computer, I play word games on my Kindle, I play board games with my friends, I play with Scout the Puggle many times throughout the day.
I also enjoyed the habit titled: Use Technology to Your Advantage. I feel that there are times I am a tech Guru, or a tech goddess and other times...yeah, not so much! I constantly strive to bring new and exciting lessons, filled with technology, to the classes I teach. Sometimes they fall flat, and sometimes they rock.
My Goal for this whole project and BLOG process is to explore the cool technology ideas and bring some ideas back to my classroom. It's all about the kids after all....right?
